Lantau Island - Donkey Trail
Referred to as 'The Donkey Trail' by some of the locals, this is actually the Ngong Ping maintenance trail that was build during the construction of the cable cars on Lantau Island. Starting at Tung Chung, the Donkey Trail is a great walk beneath the cable cars all the way to the Big Buddha and Ngong Ping. If you feel up to it you can continue to Lantau Peak.
This hike was done on a sunny, and sometimes chilly day in Dec 2011. The hike starts from Tung Chung, winding through a Tai-O style village before you get to the trail.
